Council services spreading

[Thursday 06 November 2008]

Hambleton has teamed up with two outside agencies in a bid to improve access to district council services.

In Thirsk council tax can now be paid through the Broadacres office in the Old Surgery on Picks Lane. The office is open from 9:30 to 12:30 Monday to Friday – customers need to simply take along the bill or payment book to access the service.

And in Bedale the District Council and North Yorkshire County Council have teamed up with Business Support and Development (BSD) to deliver advice for council customers. Anyone dropping into the BSD offices at 17 Market Place can get advice on bus passes, council tax, planning, sport, leisure and waste collection as well being able to access other council services such as reporting a broken street light.

“We are working hard to ensure that our customers can access services at a time and a location which is handy to them,” said Customer Services Manager, Paul Staines.

“That could be through our own offices, through our website or by working in partnership with other agencies. And if our customers have any suggestions as to how we can improve things further please let us know.”

District Council offices in Northallerton (Civic Centre), Stokesley and Easingwold are open from 8.45am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and from 8.45am to 4.45pm on Friday. The contact centre is open on 0845 1211 555 from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

For queries on either of these developments call Hambleton’s Customer Services Team on 0845 1211 555.
