They have recently been out on the streets of Thirsk and Stokesley with a team of gumbusters - in a bid to rid the town of discarded chewing gum.

High tech machinery are giving problem areas in the two market towns a deep steam clean - getting rid of caked on gum, food waste and grease.

The clean up is part of Hambleton District Council's policy to improve the street scene across the whole district.

Gumbusters tackled all the areas market towns 12 months ago and intend to keep on top of the problem areas.
