A GROUP of young Rangers from the Broads National Park have been helping to improve access in the Yorkshire Dales.
The Suffolk teenagers spent three days working with Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA) staff as part of their studies for a BTEC first certificate in countryside and environment at Bungay High School in Bungay.
James Lamb, the YDNPA Area Ranger for Swaledale, said the 14 and 15-year-olds rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into some footpath maintenance work during their stay.
"It's the second year we have played host to a group from the Broads Authority and we are hoping to have another next year," he said.
"They have been doing all the practical work for their course with the Broads Authority and the 'exchange' gives them a chance to see how different National Park Authorities work and to learn more about the Ranger service."
