Nick White: Providing export opportunities
AN opportunity for farms and related industries across the Yorkshire Dales to access potential Russian markets for export being offered by North Yorkshire-based rural business consultancy, Agri-Connect.
The firm's Nick White will be representing UK businesses nationwide at the AgroFarm event on the outskirts of Moscow on 19-21 June.
He is inviting other organisations to join him, or to send him their product literature, which he will pass on to potential customers. The show will focus on all types of products and services connected with agricultural livestock, including specialist consultancy and genetics.
"Russian agriculture has been in decline for many years, but things are now starting to pick up. The problem is that all sectors lack basic equipment and supplies. We are hoping to take the first steps towards meeting the demand by taking a stand at AgroFarm, which is the biggest show of its kind in the Russian Federation," says Mr White.
"Thousands of potential buyers are expected to attend, and this is a great opportunity to make initial contact. Representatives from the National Pig Association and the National Beef Association will also be exhibiting at the event."
Interpreters will be on hand to help with translation, and some businesses may qualify for grant funding towards travelling and other expenses. As well as meeting buyers, UK guests will be invited to a reception being held by the British Embassy in Russia.
The group will travel to Russia on 18 June, returning on 22 June.
