A FEMALE Porter from Airedale Hospital is soon to be shaving her head - all in the name of charity.
Diane with colleagues who have helped her raise £300
Diane Burns will be shaving off her not-so-long locks for her 43rd birthday next month in the hospital's outpatient department.
Diane is raising money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation after her partner's mother died of lung cancer 2 years ago.
The Porter was one of a group of staff from the hospital who were awarded certificates last month from the Roy Castle Foundation in recognition of their efforts to stop smoking as the hospital became a completely Smoke Free site on 8th March.
Diane says: "I have raised over £300 so far but would be grateful for any more donations or sponsorship.
"I've shaved my head before on my 40th birthday for Leukaemia research and I'm happy to do it again - I like to really do something special to mark my birthdays."
Anyone who wishes to make a donation or sponsor Diane can contact her via the Porters office at Airedale General Hospital on 01535 652511.
