PEOPLE are being urged to re-cycle their Christmas cards and help the Woodland Trust, Britain's biggest arboreal conservation charity, plant new trees.
The trust cares for thousands of acre of often historic woodland, including Skipton Woods which surround the rear battlements of the town's 12-Century castle. Money raised by recycling millions of postcards helps pay for the management of such sites and the planting of new woodland.
Collection points have been set up at branches of Tesco and WH Smith.
