Yorkshire's diverse landscape is being celebrated at the World of James Herriot.

A new exhibition has opened at the Thirsk museum showcasing the Yorkshire Dales, Yorkshire Moors, Vale of York and the coast - and the perfect habitation they offer for all types of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, insects and birds.

The work of Yorkshire based artist Penny Phillips - who is inspired by the landscape – is also featured. She will be exhibiting her porcelain sculptures or raptors, bats, kingfishers and owls.

A special adult sculpturing workshop is being held by Penny on Wednesday October 13 from 11 am – 1pm. She will help participants create a bird from porcelain. The session is £15 including materials and firing of the work. Places are limited so booking essential.
