THE full results of Yorkshire's unique drystone walling competition - the only one in the country in which actual field walls are judged in situ as opposed to specimen lengths building at agricultural shows - have been announced.
As we reported two weeks ago, the winner of the competition, organised by the Country Land and Business Association, was Stan Bargh, of Chapel-le-Dale, near Ingleton.
Prizes go to both the wallers (in brackets) and the farmers who have commissioned them, are:
JW Bostock, Leyburn ( S Bostock); Mrs A Thackray, Cold Kirby, Thirsk (K Ledger); I & S Burnett, Scarborough (T Jones); The Hon. Lady Roche, Starbotton, Skipton (JH Sayer and J Bowdin); J Nelson, Pateley Bridge (J Leggett); D Mudd, Brompton, Scarborough (D Mudd); Network Rail (Ms L Kirkbride and J Webber); C Nelson & Sons, Hetton, Skipton (C Nelson).
