ORGANISERS of this weekend’s festival of Magic Myths and Legends in Clapham, one of the most beautiful villages in the Yorkshire Dales, are busy making final preparations for the inaugural outdoor extravaganza.
With a forecast of good weather on Saturday and Sunday (8 and 9 May), dozens of local people, businesses and Dales Volunteers are busy decorating and preparing the village for thousands of visitors.
The festival is one of the highlights of the Yorkshire Dales National Park’s 50th anniversary programme designed to celebrate the rich, diverse and unique cultural heritage of the Dales.
Attractions include a huge, blow-up palace of mystery, street theatre, mummers, jugglers, musicians and a fire-eater – all the fun of a medieval fayre and much more.
