THE Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has a vacancy on its committee for someone with a keen interest in the countryside who will help steer the park though its landmark 50th anniversary celebrations next year.

The job involves a lot of work but, says the park authority, but is very rewarding. The person selected will be appointed to the NPA by the Secretary of State for the Environment for three years starting next April.

Applicants do not have to live in the park and applications are welcome from people living in the towns surrounding the Dales. Young applicants are particularly welcome.
