Park boss keeps national seat
Friday 28 June

Steve Macaré, chairman of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, has been re-elected deputy chairman of the Association of National Park Authorities (ANPA).

He is also the chairman of ANPA's English Chair's Group, the national body that exists to provide the country's national parks with a single voice, particularly when dealing with Government and its agencies.

Mr Macaré Commented: "My re-election comes at an important time, with Loch Lomond and the Trossachs due to be designated as national parks next month, the Cairngorms next year and a further two for England in the pipeline. This comes alongside the Government's review of English national parks, which is due to report any week now."
