Small Dales Village fights back
Wednesday 23 January

The small village of Kettlewell has recently launched their own web site called www.kettlewell.info all thanks to thousands of donations from generous hearted people.

Kettlewell, situated in the heart of the North Yorkshire national park, has been hard hit by last year's foot and mouth tragedy as the businesses mainly rely on income derived from tourism and farming.

Last year's events saw much heartache in this small community. Even the famous Kettlewell scarecrow festival had to be cancelled, much to the dismay of its thousands of regular visitors.

However, determined not to be daunted, the locals have come together to fight back and with many thanks to the unsurpassed generosity of the people who contributed money to the Dales Recovery Fund. A grant has been used to fund a new web site hosted by Daelnet giving the world pictorial access to this beautiful village and surrounding area.

The web site is full of information, walks, history and much fun, with an opportunity to download a screen saver of local images and the chance to join a mailing list to keep up with the gossip.

It is hoped that the web site will provide a shop window for this glorious area so that those who know and love Kettlewell will be prompted to return and those who have yet to discover the timeless beauty, tranquillity and warm welcome will want to visit Kettlewell as soon as possible.
