Community Acts to save playscheme
Sunday 12 May

Following the preceding press coverage of the emergency meeting held at the end of April, valuable offers of help were made from both new and existing supporters of the club, enabling Gasp! to continue providing out of school care in Wharfedale.

Mother and daughter team, Cheryl and Holly Grinstead came forward to act as Rota Officer and Playleader, with Sally Heaton helping as Playleader on Fridays, Katy Lambert offering support in providing sport-related activities, and Michelle Clarke taking on the role of Staff Liaison.

The new manager of the Devonshire in Grassington has made a community spirited donation of a prestigious mountain bike, which is currently being raffled in aid of Gasp! funds.

"We're not out of the woods yet, however", explained Gasp Chairperson, Sorrel Mooney. "We still need more volunteers to strengthen the staff/committee structure. In particular we need someone to take on the role of Publicity - producing and distributing posters for events - as the existing committee are already stretched with the other responsibilities involved with running the club."

New and existing users of Gasp! are reminded that the club will be open for holiday Gasp! on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th June; booking in advance is important as it helps staff to plan activities and outings.

Gasp! would like to thank Vicky Bingham for her efforts as both volunteer and leader and wish her well in her new job.
