Website for Pennine Way walkers
Thursday 08 August

THE Countryside Agency has launched a brand-new website for people wanting to walk the Pennine Way - a once-in-a-lifetime adventure for many people, says the agency.

The site carries maps, tips on walking safety and even details of companies which, for a fee, will carry luggage from stop to stop - a bonus for less experienced walkers who want the pleasure of the trip without the back-ache.

The Pennine Way, Britain's most famous walk, is 268 miles long and some of its most spectacular scenery lies in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

"Walking the Pennine Way is a once in a lifetime goal for many people," says agency trails officer Steve Westwood. "It is our hope that this easy to use website will help bring the achievement of this goal a step closer."
