Major boost for Yorkshire's market towns
Monday 08 July

A major announcement is expected tomorrow (Tuesday) which could mean a major boost for Yorkshire's market towns. Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency, will reveal plans to help improve up to 40 small country towns as part of the Government's Market Towns Renaissance campaign.

The agency plans to appoint an international panel of experts to work on the project. The intention is to work with local communities to develop 25 year visions for their towns, with populations between 5,000 and 20,000, making them places where people want to live, work, invest and visit.
