New site offers 'The Great Outdoors' online
Wednesday 04 December 2002

A new online shopping service for backpacking, mountaineering, caving, hiking and trekking equipment has been launched by Cave & Crag, a North Yorkshire based outdoor pursuits specialist. The new site can be found at www.cave-crag.co.uk and has been established with the help of Yorkshire Forward’s Recovery Project, set up to alleviate the damage caused in the area by the recent Foot & Mouth outbreak.

Cave & Crag's new website, www.cave-crag.co.uk
Established almost thirty years ago, Cave & Crag is a highly knowledgeable family run business with retail outlets in Settle’s historic market town and in nearby Malham, both ideal spots for exploring the magnificent Yorkshire Dales. An extensive range of clothing, footwear, tents, sleeping bags, rucksacks and guides for climbing and walking can be securely purchased via the site, together with specialist technical equipment such as climbing ropes and hardware, ice gear and GPS systems.

The site also includes a regular walk, changed monthly and a comprehensive advice section, where typical questions range from the suitability of different types of cooking equipment for trekking in remote areas, to an explanation of how global positioning systems work. Queries can be sent to info@cave-crag.co.uk.

Purchasers spending over £100 on the Cave & Crag web site will receive a Privilege Purchase Card entitling them to a 10% discount on that and all future purchases. Personal callers are always welcome at the two Cave & Crag stores, which are open seven days a week, from 9am to 5.30. The Settle outlet can be contacted on 01729 823877.
