ONE of the most important farming experiments ever launched in the Yorkshire Dales will be announced tomorrow and could herald the return of traditional hardy breeds of cattle to upland pastures.
Over-grazing by sheep has long been a cause of concern to conservationists for the damage it causes to rare habitats like heather moorland - and tomorrow's announcement of the £1.27 million project will be a major step towards the re-introduction of more sustainable agriculture in the Malham area.
