Fri 29 June

WITH funding from the Countryside Agency, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority will this Sunday (July 1) reinstate two popular weekend bus services from West Yorkshire to the heart of the Park.

The news follows a long campaign by the Yorkshire Dales Public Transport User Group, to reintroduce the 803 Sunday and 800 Saturday bus services from Bradford and Leeds to Swaledale, Wensleydale and Wharfedale.

The new 803 service will run every Sunday from 1 July and on the August Bank Holiday Monday. It will leave Wakefield at 08.20, calling at Bradford, Leeds, Harrogate, Middleham, Leyburn, Reeth, Gunnerside and Muker, before arriving in Hawes at 12.40. The return trip will leave Hawes at 17.00.

The 800 service will run every Saturday from 7 July and will leave Wakefield at 08.20 and call at Bradford, Leeds, Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, Grassington, Kettlewell, Buckden, Aysgarth and Bainbridge, before arriving in Hawes at 12.55. The return trip will leave Hawes at 17.15.
