ONE of the Yorkshire Dales' most famous adopted sons, the best-selling American author Bill Bryson, is returning to Britain - and may well be taking up residence once again in Malhamdale.
Her and his family lived in the Dales for several years whilst he wrote on of his best-selling books, Tales from a Small Island, an affection tribute to Britain. He left five years ago because he wanted his children to be educated in America but always vowed he would return to the Dales.
Now he is coming back to Britain and he told a BBC radio interviewer: "I love England like I love me wife." He added: "I also miss the pub."
